President’s speech on the eve of 65th Independence Day

Indian President Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil addressed the Indian citizen on the eve of India's 65th Independence day celebration. She addressed the country and its people by calling them Dear citizens. Some of the few lines from President's speech speech are given here:

Dear Citizens,
As I speak to you on the eve of our 65th Independence Day, I extend my warmest greetings to all of you living in India and overseas. To the members of our Armed Forces and Para-military forces who guard our frontiers, and our internal security forces, I extend special greetings."

President's Complete Speech on the eve of Independence day

In her speech, President mentioned that corruption is the greatest cancer eating the country's wealth and resources, making it a developing country still after 64 years of Independence. Pratibha Patil also admitted the fact that graft bedevilled the everyday lives of many Indians.
